Sky Sox Kids Club

Ever since Logan was a baby, we have enjoyed the Sky Sox games. Logan loves baseball!! We have been buying ticket books every year. Every year we have signed Logan up for the Sky Sox Kids Club. This is an excellent club. The kids that are signed up, get a t-shirt, get in free to every Sunday games and get to run the bases at the Sunday games. This year they did a family evening where all the kids and their families got to run the bases and stay on the field for pictures, catch etc. This was a really fun day for us!! Cant wait until next season!!

First homework Assignment
We looked into Logan's school folder and found out that we had a homework assignment to do. Marc and I just laughed and commented on how long it has been since we did homework and now we were starting all over again. The assignment was a cut out person that you were to make look like yourself. You were to get a mirror to study all the features of your face and then make the cut out look like you. You could use any supplies that you wanted. Parents were encouraged to participate. Logan and I headed to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies. He was so excited to be able to be a part of the decision making process. We bought some papers for shorts and shirts and shoes then we bought some string for the hair and buttons for the shirt. We headed home and after eating dinner the 3 of us sat down to make his picture. It was actually alot of fun. We studied the mirror and mom tried out her crafting abilities (I sucked!). After all was said and done, Logan was very excited of the person that he had made.

Logan's First Day Of Pre-School
It It came and it went...........Logan's first day of pre-school.........

Tuesday August 10,2010 6:30am - Wake Up
I woke Logan up and told him it was time to get ready for school and his face lit up with excitement. He jumped out of bed and headed downstairs and watched his cartoons and drank milk while I made his special day breakfast. Breakfast was Dinosaur Pancakes and Dinosaur Eggs. He was thrilled. After breakfast it was time to get dressed for school. Logan put on his special outfit that we picked out together for his first day of school and grabbed his backpack.
PICTURE TIME:
Of course Daddy went crazy with the pictures and we have tons from that morning. We took about 15 minutes of pictures with me pacing back and forth looking at the time. LOL
Heading to school Logan was so excited and kept smiling and laughing
SCHOOL:
We arrived to school and waited outside of Logan's classroom for the door to open. Me, I could feel the tears building up but tried to keep them under control. Logan stood next to us looking a bit nervous but still excited. Finally......the door opened. We were told to sign our child in then the child would go and sit down at circle time where you would tell them goodbye....Signed Logan in....proceeded to the circle time rug.....he sat down, other kids were screaming and he was looking at them and I was thinking to myself "please dont let him get scared". I bent down, gave him a kiss and told him I was proud of him and loved him. Logan said" mom it is ok, dont cry I love you" of course here come my tears. I held it together. Daddy said goodbye and we walked out of the class leaving our child sitting in circle time. As we were walking away, I heard "mommy"....I turned around and he blew me a kiss. This was it. I held it in long enough. Here come the tears.....
Marc and I went to the car and I cried all the way to Starbucks. I am sure the people in Starbucks thought I was crazy. We headed home and I was still crying. I took a 20 min nap and woke up crying yet some more. Then, the tears stopped. It was all better and ok.....Marc and I went and did a little shopping and had a great time together.
THE PICK UP:
It was time to pick Logan up. I was thrilled. Marc and I paced with other parents outside the classroom waiting for the door to open. Finally....it opened again......We were told to sign our child out then they would call his name to come to us......Ms Jennie said "Logan" and he ran over to us soooo excited and hugged us and told us he had a great time. Once again the tears filled my eyes. All the way to lunch he told us about his day was and how much fun and how much he had learned in the first day. His choice for lunch was Red Lobster. All the staff knew it was his first day and catered to him in every way possible.
Overall it was a tear filled day, but a day that was great for all of us. We will cherish and remember the first day he started school forever!! He continues to amaze us at all he is learning and he has only been 4 times. He has many friends and talks about them all the time.....Great experience!!

Little Toilets and Sinks
Boy am I emotional these days!! We headed to "meet the teacher" night at Logan's pre-school. My sister made fun of me before leaving because I told her that I did not think I could emotionally handle walking into the school. She said to "suck it up and to take one for the team". She said "it is not like he is going into the military". She also said "we make fun of parents like you sometimes" So I decided to be strong. I walked into Logan's classroom and met Ms. Jennie, Logan's teacher. I was very pleased with the classroom and the surrondings. The aides seem to be WONDERFUL. I decided that I would get Logan adapted to where everything was in the classroom. We walked around and looked at things and I ALMOST teared up at the circle time area but I kept it cool. I then saw the door to the bathroom and decided that I better show him where the bathroom was so he could get familiar. I opened the door and saw 2 stalls in this small bathroom. I turned the light on and saw the little toilets and the little sinks with the soap on the wall so they could reach it. This was it. I lost it. I started crying like a big baby in this little bathroom. Marc consoled me and said it would be ok, but I just thought it was funny that little sinks and little toilets would be the thing that triggered my emothions that day......Oh and just to let you know.........My strong sister teared up a little bit on TJ's first day of Kindergarden(even though he is in her class)! Guess she will have to make fun of herslef :)

Summer
Approaching time for school, (August 10 is Logan's first day of school.....)I thought that I would blog a little about our summer.......
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO:

GOLF:

Now with my little "baby" starting pre-school in 1 week, I reflect on everything that we have done all summer. From the things mentioned about to Manitou just walking around, fishing, Estes Park, riding his bike to the park, picnics, swimming and hanging with great friends and family. My promise to Logan and to our family is that even though now I will be planning activites around school, I will still be planning. We will have amazing summers to come and will always top the previous ones :)
We had a fun filled Summer and did various activities around Colorado as well as Las Vegas.
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO:
We spent alot of time this year at the zoo as we do all the time, but it is getting so much funner the older Logan gets and you can see the excitement in his face as well and all the stuff he is learning. He can tell you stuff about animals that I never knew hee hee. He was able to feed the bats this year and that was a very exciting experience for him. He loves to ride the pony's at the zoo. I just wish that they got a longer ride! We visited the zoo several times this year with his best friend Xander. Xander and Logan met in Soccer at the YMCA one year ago. After that they played t-ball together and have met up for zoo and play time alot. Just recently the boys went to the Fire Station Open house and of course had a blast. It is really cool to know that Logan made a friend on his own. Growing up that's for sure!!

LAS VEGAS:
As a birthday surprise we headed to Las Vegas. I am just so amazed at how family oriented Las Vegas can actually be. We arrived to Vegas and checked into our hotel room (New York New York). We paid for Marc's mom to go so that she could be our babysitter at night. This was well worth it. The first night we went and ate at Nathan's hot dog's in the New York New York. Really good food! We then went and walk the strip at night so Logan could see all of the lights. His face lit up. It was pretty awesome seeing him look around at everything. We then went to the NYNY game facility called Coney Island. This was a awesome place for kids!! Logan had a blast and won lots of prizes..We then headed back to the hotel room, got Logan a bath and ready for bed then Marc and I headed out on the town. Did a little gambling, a few drinks, and won won won :) Not alot but alot for us. Needless to say we came home with more than we took. The next day was my birthday and we headed out.....Marc and Logan went to the pool and Karen and I headed over the the half price ticket booth. We purchased tickets for the Medievil Times dinner show for that evening. We headed back to the room and got the boys and went exploring. Logan got to meet Spongebob, Woody and Buzz and some M&M characters. We ate at game stop and of course played games there. We went to M&M world, and of course went over to the Lion Habitat at the MGM. Logan at a blast there seeing how much he loves animals. We headed back to the room and got ready for the show. the show was great and Logan loved it!! After the show we went back to the arcade that Logan LOVED (Coney Island at NYNY). He had a blast that evening. We then went back to the room got him ready for bed and Marc and I went back out and did some more gambling. Sooooo MUCH fun!! The day day was departure day and before we went we had a wonderful breakfast and then Logan chose to go back to the arcade. Great trip!!
Mother's Day and Father's day have so much more meaning when the kids get older. It is just so great to hear Happy Father's Day all day long from your precious son. This year we went the the Sky Sox Game for Father's Day so that Logan and Daddy could play catch on the field. They had a awesome time. Afterwards we ended with a great BBQ.

CIRCUS:
The circus get so much fun year by year. We have gone to the circus every year since Logan was way before 1 year old. He loved it this year and got to meet all the performers in the Circus. It is a great annual event for our family!

GOLF:
Marc Logan and even myself sometimes have been playing golf this summer. It has been a fun family activity and Logan is really good at golf!! Me not so much :) Logan also got the chance to go to the PGA SR gold tournament with Marc that was held in Parker Co. They both had a great father/son time and got lots of autographs!!
HIKING:
We did alot of hiking this summer and Logan LOVED it. We went to Helen Hunt Falls on Mother's day then have been to several other hiking destinations. I love hiking with my son. he points out things to me that I never really notice stuck in the adult world. I love seeing the suroundings through his eyes!!
DENVER:
We took several weekend trips to Denver and stayed at the Embassy Suites each time. We love it there. Very family oriented. We visited the Nature and Science Museum and it is one of Logan's favorite destinations. We are thinking about getting a membership there for next summer.

WATERWORLD:
Aunt Kim came and visited us from Oklahoma for a few days. We headed to Denver and went to waterworld. The boys had a blast. This is the best place for kids and swimming. It was so fun! We then checked into our hotel room at the Sheraton on the 16th street mall. We headed out to the mall and how dinner at Bubba Gumps. After Bubba Gumps we took a lovely ride on a horse and carriage at 16th street. The boys had a blast with their Aunt Kimi and of course ended with a trip to Toys R Us to restock :)

Sickness is SICK
Ok so this is the sickest that I have EVER been. This just really sucks. Started while I was in Vegas and had really bad headaches and sore throat. I managed to make it till we got home. I attempted to go to work and felt like crap. I called the doctor at 8:30am and they could not see me till 3:45pm that same afternoon. I ended up going home. Snuck in the house so that Logan did not see me and went to bed. I slept until 3:00 and left for the doctor. I was told in the dr office that I had strep throat, tonsilitis and dehydration. I was given antibiotics even though I could not even swallow my own spit let alone a huge pill. I went home and attempted to take the medice. I choked on the pill because I could not get it down. I ended up having to go to the emergency room to have a shot of penicillian since I could not take my medicine. This has been the worst that I have ever been with this stuff. I received a message last night from the doctor stating that my throat culture came back and I also have strep rash. Strep rash is when you have strep throat so bad that you can get a rash from it. Funny thing is that I have not rash. The doc said to watch out for it because if it appears then I will need another shot and possible IV. I hate this and want it to be over!!!

Logan School Testing
Ok so I am getting a little out of order here. I wanted to wait to post Logan's bday party pic's when I had time to upload them. Last night we went to Pre-School Roundup. Yes, I am gonna be that parent that has a breakdown for sure. I was ok until we got into the parking lot and that is when I started tearing up. Keep in mind this was just for testing and not for actual school. I dont even want to think about that day. We walked into the school and just seeing him in the school hallway made me tear up. Marc kept asking if I was ok or not. I managed to get it together and we walked into the testing room and of course Logan introduced himself to everyone in the room. They did some testing with Logan and was really impressed that he could count to 50. They said that he did not qualify for any special needs for pre-school. Actually they said he was on a Kindergarden level and did not recommend pre-school at all. However, Logan will go to pre-school because I do think it is important for him to be there with other kids since he never went to daycare. The teachers also said that they were glad I did not waste 2 years on pre-school since he has more knowledge then most other's that are there. That made me feel great as a parent because obviously we are doing something corrctly. Logan is all signed up and we are waiting for the lottery to be announced. We sould get a call on March 12 letting us know if he was picked or not. Our first choice school was Remington that is right by our house. 2nd choice was Springs Ranch and 3rd Choice was Stetson. I love the fact he is going to be in a school environment and not necessarly a daycare environment that we have seen in the past. I cant wait for the call, or can I?????
Christmas

Christmas was soooooo fun this year. Logan had a blast and it was so fun seeing the look on his face each day that he took the chocolate out of his advent calendar. We started new traditions this Christmas as well as keeping some of our childhood traditions alive. Santa was very good to Logan this year and he meade lots of great memories. He still talks about Christmas to this day.
Goodbye Nana/Mom

October 13,2009 I lost a big part of me and a big part of Logan. My mom passed away. No words can express how great of a mom and a nana she was. She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. The evening she passed away, Kylie gave her CPR. I admire Kylie for being able to do that as I was not even able to go over there until they removed mom from her room. Kylie is very strong and took excellent care of my mother. She did something that I was not able to do and that makes her a hero to me. I hope one day she realizes the care she gave to our mother. I miss my mom everyday and wish that I could see her one more time. People tell me it gets easier with time, but I can honestly say that it does not. Hopefully time heals but nothing will bring back my mom. I cherish the times I did spend with her and will keep those memories alive for Logan. I miss you mom!!
Behind on Blogging
So I have been really behind on Blogging. I do enjoy blogging but it feels like everything has all happened at once lately and blogging became a chore. Now that things are settling down I am going to try and catch up. Slowly but surely!
